Chlorine dioxide is a universal, pH independent disinfectant!
DOSAiX chlorine dioxide generators produce aqueous chlorine dioxide solutions fully automatically using the acid-chlorite process. We offer a wide variety of systems, from low capacities (0 – 5 g/h) to high capacities (3000 g/h) in a wide range of designs, e.g. pressurised systems, pressure-free systems, batch systems or customised systems to suit your specific application.
Our systems are used to disinfect drinking water, e.g. in public buildings, waterworks or industrial plants as well as to disinfect CIP system water or to remove biofilms in refrigeration circuits or cooling towers.
Acid-chlorite method
4 HCl + 5 NaClO₂ → 4 ClO₂ + 5 NaCl + H₂O
hydrogen chloride and sodium chlorite react to form water, sodium chloride and chlorine dioxide.
How chlorine dioxide works as a disinfectant?
Oxidation breaks down the molecular bonds and the organism dies, thus eliminating the Legionella bacteria as well.
Unlike chlorine, chlorine dioxide acts as a toxin for the entire biofilm, right down to the amoeba level, even below the odour threshold, and disinfects irrespective of the pH.
